Daniel Craig is back as James Bond for Bond 25. The film is in the middle of production and to give a tease to fans of what’s to come, director Cary Fukunaga shared an on-set video trailer of some of the early footage of the film for a Bond 25 first look.
The crew spent a few weeks in Jamaica working on the film before moving to other locations—the movie will also be shooting in Norway, Italy, and London—and these scenes show off some of the early parts of the film. While Daniel Craig sustained an ankle injury while shooting in Jamaica, the movie production didn’t need to be delayed and within a couple weeks he was already back in the gym training while still in his walking boot.
The official James Bond website released the first synopsis of the film when production began, detailing how the movie starts and the new mission Bond will have. At the opening of the film, Bond is no longer in active service and is living in Jamaica, but all that gets upended when his friend, CIA agent Felix Leiter (Jeffery Wright), shows up and asks him for help: “The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology,” the synopsis reads. That mysterious villain will be played by Rami Malek.
The behind-the-scenes footage shows Craig as Bond doing some spy work, Wright as Leiter, and Lashana Lynch as a new character named Nomi. Here’s a look at the video:
Bond 25 is scheduled for release on April 3, 2020.
